What is nitriding?

Nitriding is a heat-treating process used to harden the surface of metals. It involves introducing nitrogen into the surface of the material at high temperatures, creating a hard, wear-resistant layer without the need for quenching.

This technique enhances durability, corrosion resistance, and fatigue strength, making it ideal for parts subject to high stress or friction, like gears and crankshafts.

Wankel engine block resurfacing

We can resurface wankel engine blocks with this process. Process includes lapping the blocks (evening surface) treating surface to highest hardness with nitridation.

With this process the surface of blocks is same or higher hardness compared to factory hardness of surface.

Our nitriding service creates very fine surface (no sand paper surface as some nitriding processes happen to make).
